Chances are you may have already seen at least one of this month’s releases (spoiler alert: it impacts how you use Teamwork every day!). But even if you’re seeing everything we shipped in June for the first time, we’re here to give you the scoop on what to be on the lookout for the next time you log into Teamwork. Let’s dig into what’s shiny and new within the platform!
Teamwork has a new look and feel
That’s right, we’ve freshened up Teamwork’s overall look! More than anything, we want you to enjoy spending time in Teamwork—while also doing better work for your clients at the same time.
With these spiffy new changes, you’ll be able to surface your most recently viewed projects, access more powerful search capabilities, and attain an overall cleaner, sleeker user experience. What’s not to love about that?
Making the switch to the new layout couldn't be easier. Simply click the “Try New Teamwork” button in the top navigation bar, and bada-bing, bada-boom, you're all set!
Because we know change can be difficult to get used to, you can still switch back to the old layout for the time being if you prefer. But with a streamlined navigation, top features at your fingertips, and easier searching, we think you’re going to love the radically improved Teamwork.

Introducing new tools for finance management
Finance features to the rescue! We know that setting and tracking budgets are two of the most important aspects of doing work for your clients. That’s why we’re so excited to launch a robust new set of tools on per-user Grow/Premium subscriptions and above, helping you better manage your finances within Teamwork.
With this launch, you now have the ability to create new budgets, edit and delete existing or upcoming budgets, and manage multiple budgets for your clients in one handy place. Beyond that, you can also get a holistic view of how profitable each of your projects are with the help of these new tools.
Not only will you see your billing information in the new Finance section, but you’ll also have access to a variety of other financial information, including project budgets, project profitability, budget-specific expenses (Grow plan only), and Task List budgets (Scale plan only).
You can find out more about each of the components of the new Finance section here. (Want to take advantage of Teamwork’s entire set of finance features? Chat with us!)
Get a more comprehensive view of your budgets
In case the release of the new Finance section wasn’t enough, we’ve launched a new Budget Expenses feature as part of the broader Finance area. Keep track of any one-off expenses that may occur, then log them against your overall project budget for more clarity and visibility.
Thanks to this feature, you can also view both your time-based or financial budgets, as well as create, edit, and manage these budgets. It’s the perfect solution for keeping track of any additional costs that may be required beyond your regular logged time.
(Note that Budget Expenses is available to Grow users—find out how to upgrade to this feature here.)
Coming soon: Task List budgets for Scale users! This feature will enable you to have a more granular level of budget control and insight. Stay tuned, as we’ll have more info about this feature in next month’s release roundup.
Simplify your workflows with new Automations
Automations within Teamwork are your secret weapons for cutting down on manual, repetitive work while streamlining your processes. Not only do Automations save you time, but they also give you more flexibility to create your own workflows to match your individual processes—how’s that for a win-win?
This month, we’re proud to introduce a slew of improvements to Automations, including updates to triggers that are more in line with your needs and requests. For example, now you can automatically create Automations that will automatically change followers on a task based on a specific trigger. This is especially helpful if you’re working on multiple projects and need to stay on top of informing assignees or contributors about certain tasks.
We’ve also made improvements to Automations for adding or removing tags, adding tasks, and completing tasks, so play around with which ones work best for you and your team, then put them into action and watch your workflows become more efficient.
Coming soon: Brand new Automations to help you reduce manual work and speed up your processes!
